Cleopetra
(Ballad)
In the hieroglyphs of gold and gem,
In the hieroglyphs of gold and gem,
Her avatar dazzled boldly.
Serpent and scarab are her signs.
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
Her cold eyes looked the way a
predator's look at his prey
Poised on her golden throne regally,
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
Lush green lands and riches from Bethlehem,
lay before her manifold.
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
But darkness loomed over to condemn,
like fire, it swallowed all her gold.
Their own land snatched from them.
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
A running flame in her rem,
now broken and controlled.
Lost her kingdom and diadem,
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
Once, everyone bowed before her dresses hem,
Octavian took hold,
Now crumpled, crushed and condemned,
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
"I will not be triumphed over," said
she, her army didn't hold.
Egypt’s land, defeat sunk into them.
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
The stench of failure weighed her down,
a poisonous shimmer, for dignity to withhold,
moving towards the fanged creature,
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
She saw the hand of death with spite,
but accepted its lethal hold.
She lay still as light escaped her soul.
The grand Queen of Egypt behold.
